Poodle News

You might not think it from the lack of updates on this site, but we've been really busy recently and have lots of plans for the coming months.  We're continuing to get new gigs in and lots of repeat bookings, which is a sure sign that we're doing things right.

In addition, we hope to be going into the studio later in the year to start recording a whole album of original material.  It's proving hard to get the time to work on this propery because of other commitments, which is a bit disappointing but plans are under way to get things moving again.

The best thing for us is the great support and appreciation that we get from audiences - it's really nice to see people coming back to see us again and again.  We do need to get our name around more, though, so please let everybody now that we're around - especially venue owners!  See you soon...

We were glad to be able to contribute to this night.  Going on first was a bit stressful, but people seemed to enjoy it!

Gig Summary - June 2010

E-mail Print PDF

Well, the website has been quiet for a while now but we've been pretty busy playing.  I thought I'd better give a summary on our recent gigs.

Back in March we played at the Oxford in Totterdown.  There was a party going on in a pub round the corner (why does this seem to happen so often) so numbers weren't great but the people there were enthusiastic.  We had a couple of guys taking photos of the band and hope to put some up on the web soon.  We were pretty rusty after a few months off but played OK and enjoyed the night.

In April we played our second gig at the Engineers in Newport.  It was a brilliant night - we played well in front of a really appreciative audience.  We hope to be back there really soon.

Salutation, Mangotsfield - well, only our friends/family turned up!

White Swan @ Trowbridge and Two Pigs @ Corsham - both venues we really love playing at.  Good audiences and great landlords/landladies.  We'll keep going back there as long as they'll have us!

Black Horse @ Kingswood.  We didn't know what to expect from this venue, but we had a really good time there and the relatively small audience (due to weather and football) were vocal in their appreciation.  Hopefully we'll be back there again before too long.

Review of Poachers Gig

E-mail Print PDF

Some kind soul has put a glowing review of our performance at the Poacher in August.  We always get great feedback on the night, but it's really good to get published reviews like this.  Thanks Shayne.

You can see the review on the excellent Lemonrock site here
